Question 1

Do I need a licensed electrician to install this plate?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for the wiring behind it. Mounting the 2M Aura plate onto your wall box takes just a screwdriver, but the switches or sockets it holds should always be wired by a licensed electrician. The plate uses the same standard box electricians already install, so there is no special process involved.

Question 2

Is this plate BIS certified? What is the load rating?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the plate is BIS certified, matching our switches and sockets. It is a mounting frame, not a current-carrying part, so it has no load rating of its own, the switches or sockets fitted on it carry that rating. The plate is built for standard 240V Indian household circuits.

Question 3

Will two switches from different brands fit on this plate?

Accepted Answer

The 2M Aura plate uses the standard two-module cutout common across Indian modular switchboards. It is designed for Novre switches and sockets, and generally accepts other modular brands too, since module dimensions are broadly standardised across the industry. Check your existing plate's sizing if you are mixing brands.

Question 4

What is the plate made of, and will Lunar White yellow with time?

Accepted Answer

It is fire-retardant PC+ABS, chosen for its heat resistance around switches and sockets. Lunar White is a UV-stabilised finish that resists yellowing from sun exposure and everyday handling. The colour is moulded through the material, not painted on, so it will not chip to reveal a different shade.

Question 5

What is the warranty on this plate?

Accepted Answer

It carries Novre's 15-year guarantee. If the plate cracks, fades unevenly, or the frame gives way, send us a photo on WhatsApp, no receipt needed, and we ship a free replacement within 48 hours. There is no dealer or claims desk in between, just Novre.

Question 6

Is this plate suitable for a bathroom or kitchen wet area?

Accepted Answer

It is built for standard indoor use and is not IP-rated against direct water. It manages ordinary bathroom or kitchen humidity without issue, but should sit away from areas that get splashed directly. For wet zones near a sink or shower, ask your electrician about IP44-rated fittings instead.
