Question 1

Do I need a licensed electrician to install this 8-module plate?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The 8M-Hor Aura plate itself mounts onto your wall box with standard screws, but wiring eight switches or sockets across a single row is proper electrical work that should go to a licensed electrician. It matches the standard 8-module horizontal box electricians already use for wide runs.

Question 2

Is this plate BIS certified, and what load can it take?

Accepted Answer

The plate carries BIS certification, matching our switches and sockets. It is a mounting frame rather than a current-carrying part, so it has no load rating of its own, that depends on the eight switches or sockets fitted on it. It is built for standard 240V Indian household circuits.

Question 3

Will this fit my existing 8-module horizontal switchboard?

Accepted Answer

It is built to the standard 8-module horizontal cutout used for wide switchboard runs in Indian homes, so it should fit your existing wall box. It houses Novre switches and sockets, and generally works with other modular brands too, since horizontal module sizing is fairly consistent industry-wide.

Question 4

What is the plate made of, and does Lunar White discolour over time?

Accepted Answer

It is fire-retardant PC+ABS, selected for heat resistance across a wide row of switch points. Lunar White is UV-stabilised to hold its shade under sunlight and regular wiping. The colour is part of the material itself, not a surface coat, so scuffs across the panel will not reveal a different tone.

Question 5

What warranty applies to this plate, and how do I claim it?

Accepted Answer

It is covered by Novre's 15-year guarantee. If the plate cracks, fades unevenly, or the frame fails, send a photo on WhatsApp, no receipt needed, and we dispatch a free replacement within 48 hours. There is no dealer in between, claims go straight through Novre.

Question 6

Is this wide plate suitable for a bathroom?

Accepted Answer

It is a standard indoor plate and is not IP-rated for direct water contact. Regular bathroom humidity will not affect it, but with eight points on one panel, keep it well clear of any splash zone near a shower or basin. Ask your electrician about IP44-rated options for wet areas instead.
