Question 1

Do I need a licensed electrician for installation?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Screwing the 3M Aura plate onto your wall box is straightforward, but the three switches or sockets behind it need proper wiring, and that should be handled by a licensed electrician. The plate matches the standard 3-module box electricians already use across India, so it fits into their normal process.

Question 2

Is this plate BIS certified, and what is its load rating?

Accepted Answer

The plate is BIS certified, same as our switches and sockets. Since it is a mounting frame rather than an electrical component, it does not carry its own load rating, that depends on the switches or sockets installed on it. The plate is rated for standard 240V home circuits.

Question 3

Will this 3-module plate fit my current switchboard?

Accepted Answer

Yes, provided your board uses the standard 3-module cutout common in Indian homes, which this plate is built to. It houses Novre switches and sockets and generally works with other modular brands as well, since sizing is fairly consistent across the market. Confirm against your existing plate if switching brands.

Question 4

What material is the plate made from, and does Lunar White discolour?

Accepted Answer

It is fire-retardant PC+ABS, selected for durability near live switches and sockets. Lunar White is UV-stabilised so it resists yellowing under sunlight and regular use. Since the colour is part of the material itself rather than a surface coating, everyday marks will not expose a different shade beneath.

Question 5

What warranty comes with this plate, and how do I make a claim?

Accepted Answer

It is covered under Novre's 15-year guarantee. If the plate cracks, fades unevenly, or the frame fails, WhatsApp us a photo, no receipt required, and we send a free replacement within 48 hours. There is no dealer in the loop, you deal with Novre directly on every claim.

Question 6

Can this plate go in a bathroom?

Accepted Answer

It is a standard indoor plate and is not rated for direct water exposure. Normal bathroom humidity is not a problem, but keep it away from areas that get splashed, near a shower or basin. If you need something for a wet zone, ask your electrician about IP44-rated options instead.
