Question 1

Do I need a licensed electrician to install this plate?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Fitting the plate itself is simple, four screws into your wall box, but wiring the switch or socket behind it should always be done by a licensed electrician. The 1M Aura plate uses the same standard mounting box electricians already work with, so there is nothing unusual for them to figure out.

Question 2

Is this plate BIS certified? What is the load rating?

Accepted Answer

The plate carries BIS certification alongside our switches and sockets. As a mounting frame rather than a current-carrying part, it does not have its own load rating, that comes from the switch or socket fitted on it. The plate itself is rated for standard 240V Indian home wiring.

Question 3

Will it fit my existing switchboard and other brands' switches?

Accepted Answer

The 1M Aura plate follows the standard single-module cutout used across Indian modular switchboards, so it fits the same wall box your current plate uses. It is built for Novre switches and sockets, and in most cases works with other modular brands too, since module sizing is broadly standardised.

Question 4

What is the plate made of, and will Lunar White yellow over time?

Accepted Answer

It is fire-retardant PC+ABS, a polycarbonate-ABS blend chosen for heat resistance around electrical points. Lunar White is UV-stabilised to resist yellowing from sunlight and daily wear, and the colour runs through the material rather than sitting as a surface coat, so scuffs do not reveal a different shade underneath.

Question 5

What is the warranty, and who do I contact if something goes wrong?

Accepted Answer

Every Novre plate is covered for 15 years. If it cracks, discolours unfairly, or the frame fails, WhatsApp us a photo, no receipt required, and we dispatch a replacement within 48 hours. You deal with Novre directly, with no dealer or call centre in between.

Question 6

Can I use this plate in a bathroom?

Accepted Answer

It is a standard indoor plate, not IP-rated for direct water contact. It holds up fine in normal bathroom humidity when kept away from splash zones near showers or basins. For spots that see direct water, ask your electrician about IP44-rated accessories instead.
