Question 1

Do I need a licensed electrician to install this Core Plate?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Mounting the 8M-Hor Core plate onto your wall box is a simple screw-in job, but wiring eight switches or sockets across it is proper electrical work and should always go to a licensed electrician. It matches the standard 8-module horizontal box electricians already install across Indian homes.

Question 2

Is this plate BIS certified? What is its load rating?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the plate carries BIS certification, matching our switches and sockets. As a mounting frame rather than a current-carrying component, it has no load rating of its own, that comes from the switches or sockets fitted onto it. The plate is rated for standard 240V household circuits.

Question 3

Will the Core Plate fit my existing 8-module switchboard?

Accepted Answer

It is built to the standard 8-module horizontal cutout used for wide switchboard runs across India, so it should fit your existing wall box without any modification. It is designed for Novre switches and sockets and generally accepts other modular brands too, given standardised module sizing.

Question 4

What is this plate made of, and will Lunar White yellow?

Accepted Answer

It is fire-retardant PC+ABS, chosen for its heat resistance across a wide row of switch points. Lunar White is UV-stabilised to resist yellowing from sunlight and daily wiping. The colour runs through the material rather than sitting as a coating, so scuffs will not expose a different shade underneath.

Question 5

What warranty comes with the Core Plate?

Accepted Answer

It is covered by Novre's 15-year guarantee. If it cracks, discolours unevenly, or the frame fails, WhatsApp us a photo, no receipt required, and we ship a free replacement within 48 hours. There is no dealer or call centre in the loop, you deal with Novre directly.

Question 6

Can this plate be used in a bathroom?

Accepted Answer

It is built for standard indoor conditions and is not IP-rated against direct water. Normal bathroom humidity will not affect it, but with eight points on one panel, keep it away from any area that could get splashed directly. Ask your electrician about IP44-rated fittings for wet zones instead.
